We Expect to be Held to a Higher Standard.

Founded in 2008 as a small remodeling and handyman operation by Stuart Gaines, New Blue has grown into an established leader in the Chattanooga construction market, building projects with a particular emphasis on large, complex renovations and custom new construction. Our signature craftsmanship is anchored by an in-house team of craftspeople excelling in construction management, woodworking, and carpentry.

New Blue follows these three tenets in our work:

  1. We foster exceptional employees
  2. We commit to building well every day.
  3. We are accountable to our clients and partners.

New Blue Culture

Investing in our Crew

With craftsmanship at the heart of our success, we work hard to keep growing our crew’s skill set and to treat them like the excellent professionals they are.

Real Benefits & Training

New Blue carpenters can expect on-the-job mentorship, regular formal training, and job benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. We also give each crew member a yearly allowance to buy new tools for their own personal kit. In addition to quarterly training sessions, we provide lead safety training and OSHA certification to each team member.

The Water Wheel

Our Watershed Moment.

This 19th-century water wheel from a historic mill was New Blue’s inaugural project shortly after Stuart Gaines founded the company. The restoration effort–which involved rebuilding the old wooden wheel and flume and refurbishing the metal working components–set the pattern for New Blue’s emphasis on out-of-the-ordinary carpentry, research and problem-solving, and pride in hands-on work.

Project Request

Epic builds begin with a conversation. In our experience, it only takes a few simple questions to really get one going.
